Mario commenced training at the prestigious Keane Kids/Gala Studios 8 years ago, studying singing, dancing and acting, where management recognised his potential and versatility and signed him immediately.
Mario’s most successful climb to stardom began with guest roles on Family & Friends, English at Work and Home & Away, followed by the role of Con in the stage production of Heartbreak High at the Ensemble Theatre. After winning the lead role of Eno in his first feature film Fistful of Flies, as destiny would have it Mario was cast in the regular role of D’espo in the television series Heartbreak High where his natural charm, charisma and sex appeal won the hearts of fans Australia wide.
Music has always had a special place in Mario’s heart and he performs regularly around clubs and the pub circuit as the lead singer in his rock band Ophonix.
Since filming SPANK!, his second feature Mario has returned to Heartbreak High.
