actor biography
I was born in Sydney on June 15, 1977 and for most of my life I have studied
the performing arts in some form - I've always loved to perform!
My first experience was on a film called the Long Ride - a casting agent came
to my school looking for a young girl to play the role of Mai. I went along to
the casting call simply thinking it would be a good experience but knowing
what I really wanted to do was dance...however, by the end of it I was hooked
on acting, and got the part.
I attended NIDA Summer School in 1994 and, although I still love to dance,
acting has fast become a great passion. In 1995 I was lucky enough to work in
several productions, including Spellbinder, The Ghost Story, Floating Life and
Naked: Stories of Men. And then in 1996, came Heartbreak. I think I have the
most fantastic character in Mai Hem - she is totally different from all the
other characters. She is really opinionated and politically minded, and acts
upon that. She doesn't just talk about things she thinks are wrong, she goes
out and does something about it... and she wears really way out clothes, I
love that.
As you know, I have now left the show - my character Mai left school to become
a video director and, I am furthering my dream to be the best actor I can be.
Nina recently appeared as a regular in the popular Australian series THE SECRET LIFE OF US as Chloe.
