Albers, a 38 years old humanities teacher descended from gypsies arrived at Hartley Heights shortly after the Hartley High gang arrived. Described by Mai as a 'bit off the wall'. Picking up on tension between the ethnic groups, one of his first actions was to organise extra classes after school for students who speak English as a second language. Splitting up the class by eye colour and left/right handidness, Gerrard taught the kids about discrimination.
Albers has a keen interest in the students, perhaps more interested in teaching them a lesson than actually teaching lessons.
