Her appointment to Hartley Heights in 1998 marks the first time she has taught older pupils, as she feels more confident in her job. Being only a few years older than the students she teaches makes for an interesting relationship - she is able to be their friend and teach in an informal style, she does not shy away from taking an authorative position.
