Season Five

Anita (Lara Cox) and Ryan (Rel Hunt) are appalled when they learn that the park they grew up in could be developed. Anita sets up a meeting with local council member Amanda Nicholls (Laurie Foel) who seems to be willing to fight the proposal.

Ryan is sceptical and finds himself siding with the developer Mr Fuller (Scott McRae), who offers him a job and assures him that the design for the new apartments includes a park. Anita bags Ryan for selling out. Ryan argues that the project is good for the community. Both realise they've been suckered when Amanda informs them that she couldn't save the park but managed to persuade the developer to build fifty units for cheap housing.

Lee (Marcel Bracks) and Nikki (Fleur Beaupert) partner up for their politics assignment and Nat is impressed with Nikki's insightful work. But when Sarah points out a quote from a history textbook, Lee realises that Nikki has stolen it, word for word. Nat soon discovers Nikki's plagiarism and demands that she rewrite the essay. Nikki has to face up to the fact that she returned to school too soon after her illness and decides to leave school, quietly, with no farewells.
