Nick and Effie are not impressed by George's surprise announcement that they'll all be going to Greece to live for a short while. George is hurt by their reactions, Nick is too, why wasn't he consulted? Nick and Jodie are back together so Nick decides he wants to move in with her but Jodie isn't ready to take such a big step. Effie, feeling like she won't be listened to , runs away to Kings Cross. George, Nick, Con and Jodie search for and find Effie. Effie is as relieved to see them as they are to see her. She has witnessed the uglier side of life. The incident makes George rethink his plans but Effie and Nick urge him to make the most of the opportunity. The Bordinos are happy to look after both kids.

The new teacher, Sam Robinson arrives at Hartley High. She's a smart, unconventional motorbike rider, who provokes strong reactions from teachers and students - especially Rivers, who sets out to make life very difficult for her. Sam can give as good as she gets. Their mutual interest in bikes ignites a sexual spark between them which is impossible to ignore.
