Season Three

When the debating team from Allie's (Inge Hornstra) old school visits Hartley High, Bolton becomes infatuated with Linda, a Chinese student from the opposing team. He throws the debate to impress Linda and then pursues her until she agrees to go out with him. Despite Allie's warnings that Linda's interest in Bolton has more to do with winning the next debate than his personality, Bolton and Linda quickly become emotionally involved. In the school yard the relationship becomes the object of racist taunts but it is Linda's strict parents who oppose the relationship, believing Bolton is not suitable for their daughter. Can Bolton overcome such blatant racism or will he lose Linda forever?

Katerina (Ada Nicodemou) wangles permission to use the school's computer to surf the internet. She sends out a message and is over the moon when she receives an enthusiastic response from a Keanu Reeves look alike.

Already feeling awkward around Matt (Vince Poletto) and Allie (Inge Hornstra), Stassy (Tara Jakszewicz) is even more alienated by the worsening Bosnian crisis and her school work suffers.
